To be eligible for a BSIS Firearms Permit, applicants must first:
- be a citizen of the United States or have permanent legal immigration status
- be at least 21 years of age
- not be banned from owning or possessing any firearm pursuant to State/Federal Law
- be a licensed Private Investigator, Qualified Manager of a Private Investigator, Private Patrol Operator, Qualified Manager of a Private Patrol Operator, Alarm Company Operator, Qualified Manager of an Alarm Company Operator or be a registered Security Guard or Alarm Agent with BSIS

Take the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16pf) with PSI Services LLC.
Participate in a two day course and complete the Power to Arrest & Firearms Training with our HIT Firearm Instructor. The classroom session will conclude with a written examination. Range Qualifications will be administered at the Linden Gun Range.
Have your fingerprints taken by Instant Live Scan Services located at the Hammerhead Security Officer. Your live Scan application will be submitted for a criminal history background check through the FBI and the CA DOJ Submit Firearms Permit Initial Application to BSIS.
In addition to the course fee you will be required to pay for your 16pf Questionnaire, Live Scan, and Application Fee.
This is a two-day course in two separate locations:
Stockton Courses
- Day 1 – Hammer Head Security Office at 4551 South B St, Stockton, California, 95206.
- Day 2 – Linden Gun Range at 828 S Hewitt Rd, Linden, CA 95236.
Concord Courses
- Day 1 – Hammer Head Security Office at 1849 Willow Pass Road Suite 310, Concord, California 94520.
- Day 2 – United Sportsmen Inc at 4700 Evora Road Suite 200, Concord, California, 94520.
Refund Policy
By enrolling in our training courses, you agree to the terms of our Refund Policy as outlined below:
Refund Eligibility
Students/customers who cancel their enrollment at least 7 days prior to the scheduled class date are entitled to a full refund of the course fee.
Cancellations Made Less Than 7 Days Before Class
Cancellations made within 7 days of the class date are not eligible for a refund. No exceptions will be made.
No Call / No Show Policy
If a student/customer fails to attend the scheduled class without prior notice (no call / no show), no refund will be issued. However, the customer will receive a credit equal to the amount paid, which can be applied toward a future class. Credit is non-transferable and must be used within 90 days from the original class date.
How to Cancel
All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing via email to training@hammerheadprotection.com and Anil@hammerheadprotection.com. The date of the email will be used to determine eligibility for a refund.
We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel classes due to low enrollment, instructor availability, or other unforeseen circumstances. In such cases, students will be given the option of a full refund or transfer to another class.
